I was busy making soap sacks and i-cord for largess projects:
The personal toilette bags they went into:
Then I knit up all the nephews slippers out of chunky yarn from the Interweave Knits 2008 Holiday Gifts magazine:
I'm still behind on my gift knitting though. I need to do a pair of niece Kaisha and for my sister Jennifer, oh and one pair for my nephew Garrett. I ran out of yellow yarn, so he won't get a pair like that.
I was also able to wrap up the 12th hat for the year before it ran out -
I learned how to do the brioche stitch with this hat and it was something new for me too! Added bonus!
I live in the Great Pacific Northwest where I read lots of books, you can check them out in my Shelfari bookshelf to the right. I currently knit and spin and have become more active in the SCA so more sewing! I also do quilt and bead-work and have learned how to Norse wire weave. I do have past experience with crochet and ceramics, but don't do a lot of it now. I may also be lured into weaving in the near future, so life is fun and interesting! Come share my adventures!

Yule Gifts
I had hoped to do a bit more than I did for the Yule gift exchange. I still think what I gave was nice. I knit a little soap sack and included three bars of home made soap - Castile and Vanilla scented. Then I sewed the red bag that I put it in. Red was the color for gifts for ladies, green for men. So a reusable bag that they can give as a gift or use for other items.
Ignatius made a hammer as his gift. Walnut head and turned/carved handle in oak. He carved the three phases of the moon. Its a substantial hammer. Funny thing is, our friend Finn picked it. He picked the wooden box that Ignatius made last year. ;-)
Ignatius picked out a box that turned out to be a hibachi that folds down. He's inclined to give it to Will to use in a future apartment. I don't know, I think it might be cool for camping and steaks. ;-)
I picked out a tissue wrapped package that turned out to be a hand made basket. It kind of looks like a basket that might have been made at the Embellisher's College we went to earlier in the year.
Its very nicely done and I look forward to using it!
We'll have more Yule gifts to make for the upcoming Dragon's Mist Juletide event.

Christmas Goodies Finished
Let's see I made some more soap bags to send soaps off in to family:
I had one project that I was knitting up to my deadline, but that's next post. ;-)
I was talking with mom on the phone with the one on the right and forgot to do an eyelet round. Still works, so off it went!
Leafy Wash Cloth pattern both versions worked - stockinette and garter.
I was just going to let them kind of be trivets, but Lorajean put fabric on some she did and since the sewing machine was out....these went to Brandon's Aunt Debbie. She seemed to like them. ;-)

I'll find out New Year's day hopefully how it fits Cole. The hats for the cousin-in-law's girls were a bit big, so they have plenty of growing room. The shrugs all fit. The ones for the nieces looked like they would be too small but they stretched to fit.
